The same style was chosen by Gwyneth at the “Oscar” ceremony in 2005, when she wore a pink dress from Stella McCartney. This silk corset dress did not suit the actress either- the breast size was small and fitted the waist tightly.
Let’s just hope that the traversed path has changed the taste of Paltrow, and the recent success with the pink dress from Prada was not accidental.

Today it has become fashionable to draw attention to the shoulders and the neck of the coat, removing all the unnecessary things.
Models of this trend may seem rather modest and simple in appearance, due to the minimalistic design: it has few buttons or “zippers” – all fasteners are hidden. Note that such a design is successfully combined with elegant, sculptural silhouettes.
The main colors: white, all shades of gray, antique gold, navy blue, red-brown, black.
Basic materials: wool and flannel luxury, satin, Cloquet.

Classical strict style
In difficult economic times, both sellers and buyers are increasingly turning to the classics, rather than to risky fashion innovations.

“School” trend
Very attractive trend, creating a charming image of a young schoolgirl. This is one of the few winter destinations, where you can see the fitting model, emphasizing the slender figure.
But here, the silhouette is given a light volume due to expansion of the lower part, which sometimes creates the form of the Empire style: it is particularly well illustrated by the model from Marc Jacobs with its high position of buttons.
By the way, note that the double row of buttons is a mandatory and a key element of decoration, a symbol of school uniforms.

Fur Sleeves
At the end of our review we would like to remind again that sleeves and shoulders are in the center of attention this winter.

Winter is in full swing, and we can determine which of the proposed styles are the most relevant ones- in fact not all represented brand collections take root in fashion.
Today we begin to acquaint you with the major fashion trends of women outerwear of fall-winter season 2009-2010.

Focusing on the shoulders
The line shape of the shoulders and sleeves require maximum attention this winter. These details make the familiar silhouettes very attractive and fashionable.
Whether it is trench or the most ordinary cloak, it will undoubtedly benefit from this cut, which is headed today by the style of 1980.
Now structural shoulders in the form of pagoda, high set triangular sleeves with the assembly became very relevant. Notorious “shoulders” returned, which again, as twenty years ago, make women shoulders bulky and expressive.

Shapeless models
To fell warm and look stylish and fashionable at the same time is not a difficult task. The popularity of winter coats of structureless forms will increase.
Models are very different, but with common features of a cut: wide and baggy, bulky, and with a rounded silhouette, with shapeless sloping shoulders, and free-style kimono sleeves.
In such a coat you will probably feel warm and comfortable, but your image will not get lost in the piling of the material. The most spectacular may seem models of cellular tissue and fluffy mohair quality.

Gentle curves of the shoulder and gradual narrowing towards the bottom is really something reminding a cocoon, but it looks free, unobtrusive and very comfortable.
And, of course, one cannot ignore the designing techniques that are specific to this season: the lack of a collar or a featureless broad cut of the neck, the buckle in the form of a zipper along the entire length, or any other fastening.
The main colors: yellow-brown, gray, classic black, fashionable colors: dark red-brown, antique gold.
Basic materials: high-quality flannel, leather, soft plaid fabric with a nap, atlas.

“I have not made such a colorful collection for a long time, – said couturier before showing. – I think now it is the right time. to do this”
The new collection of stamps turned out quite patriotic – in fact the main print were stars, as if descended from an American flag.

However, the winners of the Audience Award at the Paris Fashion Week included in the collection some dresses with prints by digital multi-colored and transparent inserts, as well as royal dresses with gold meshed patterns on their black background.

In the colorful composition of the collection, along with the classic black and beige tones, the bright red and blue hues were also presented.
The dresses were lavishly decorated with gold and silver applications, inlays and designs, as well as stylish jewelry and shoes which were complemented by elegant clutches.

Established within the best traditions of the Italian haute couture, the collection is expressed in full of light dresses, tops, shirts and suits of the most cheerful neon colors.
The sparkling inlay of the flying scarves, floral prints and separations of gradients, stylish wide belts with luxurious buckles, comfortable bags, sacks, and matching jewelries decorate the new models of the brand name. Many outfits are asymmetrical on a cut, created with the techniques of draperies, “squeezed” fabrics and bandages.
The new Blumarine collection shows a considerable attention in the variations on the “military” style which are expressed in the original dresses, jackets, short trousers and jackets of an obscure color or of a dark khaki.
This collection is expected to offer its fans who are mostly fond of the young-looking styles, the cut jeans with fine embroidery and open the belly tops and shirts, in combination with sexual mini-short, light jackets, and jackets and all in the brightest colors or in military style.

The brand prepared suits with skirts and trousers, and dresses in white and beige, neutral and golden tones, with many “zippers”, as well as matching pockets and accessories for those who are more of the calm and adult glamour.
Ballet flats reflecting the color of dresses and platform sandals in silver, brown, bronze, golden, gray-beige or with camouflage prints are added-on this bright spring-summer collection, in addition to jewelry, clutches and handbags.
Experts believe that by the energy and the mood of the new collection by Blumarine it soon may well be compared with the items by Cavalli, Pucci, and even Versace.

Women in the former Soviet Union liked the reserved style of “Burda” which were not really ready to perceive patterns and colors of the haute couture from the Western fashion after their inadequate domestic comfort of everyday life. This style brought up the tastes of almost the whole beautiful young generation who have left away the bad Soviet style clothes in favor of the inspirational “Burda” with its independent creativity.
By admiring the high quality pictures of the models, hairstyles, makeup, delicious food, exquisite interiors, the girls of the late 80′s were dreaming about a beautiful life which suddenly appeared somehow realistic and achievable, the items, the recipes and the patterns were attached to it.
The principle of “do it yourself” served as a motto for the housewives and the founder of the Aenne Burda magazine. She literally made it herself.
Anna Magdalena Lemminger was born in the provincial Offenburg in 1909 in the family of a driver, and at the age of early twenty-two she got married with the owner of the printing shop of Franz Burda. She has got three sons.
They were leading a modest life, Aenne’s days were filled with the daily errands, though her husband paid for the services of the maids and the nannies on her obedient demand. It took almost twenty years, and maybe the whole her life would have been spent like this, and she would remain as an ordinary happy German woman, if not the only predictable news which has completely overturned her life.
One day Aenne found out that Franz has been having an affair with his own secretary for a long time, from whom he had a daughter. In order to support this spin-off family, the disloyal husband gave one of his printing shops and a small fashion magazine “Effi Moden”, which shortly enough overflowed by mismanagement. Forty-year old Aenne was not afraid to turn the family tragedy into a personal opportunity. Filled with a healthy anger, she called a lawyer, but not in order to start the divorce process, but to take away from her husband’s mistress the fashion magazine to manage on her own.
She succeeded brilliantly, and the borrowed magazine got a new concept: the pictures and the patterns of the simple, convenient and elegant dresses (those that any German woman was able to sew, by being able to keep in her hands a needle), plus recipes and tips for home renovation and furnishing.
In postwar Germany, where women were altering the old soldier’s uniforms, and longed for beautiful and non expensive clothes, for a comfortable and peaceful life, Aenne’s ideas were revolutionary, and the new styling editions for only the first half of the year rose from one hundred thousand to a half a million copies. The magazine got a new name in the honor of its new owner, whereas Franz Burda became the junior partner of his ex-wife.
Aenne Burda, how paradoxically it may sound, has never done a single stitch in all her life and hated the housework duties in all its forms (except perhaps for cooking). However her business proficiency and her intuition were above of all the praises, as she was said to be a woman ofintelligence, emotion, accustomed to achieve all she finds necessary and useful.
Aenne participated in fashion shows of Paris and Milan, by selecting models for her own magazine and trying to accommodate with the tastes and the financial abilities of her readers. She managed by her own her sprawling media empire (dozens of magazines, millions of readers) till 1994, when, she, at the age of 87, has decided to retire. Aenne passed away on Nov. 3, 2005.
The empire was inherited by her youngest son, Hubert, who also bought from his brothers their shares. The name of Aenne will always remain in our memories. The street where she lived almost all her life, in Offenburg will be named after her, as well as the humorous title of “Burdapesht” will be given to the local residents in this town, besides, it is also located at the headquarters of the company of Hubert Burda Media Holding.
“Burda Moden” is sold in kiosks even nowadays, but its bought mostly by those who really need high-quality patterns. It stopped being the symbol of beauty and glamour of the “foreign” life. Now it became one of many other magazines for sewing and housework.
But the history of Aenne Burda and her famous magazine not only “emerged fashion into people”, but also became an example of the fact that “smart women do really succeed “, as Aenne herself almost always did.

The outfit from the new collection of D & G is richly decorated with crystals and bows, brooches and ruff, daring neckline and sleeves, “flashlights”, neck scarves and velvet ribbon, and even “fly-tie”.
However, the main decoration of the toilets, created from luxurious fabrics, is still an incredible theatrical opera print. These are dresses and bustier tops with “printed” on them “posters” of famous operas, along with designs reminiscent of old wallpapers or upholstery of chairs and fabrics with images of vintage paintings and tapestries on them. Many of the prints of this collection are very similar to the expensive scenery for opera performance.
Very unusual technique was the use of thick cords with tassels and velvet of the old theater curtains used as belts and material for dresses.

However, the collection of D & G included models which are more suitable for the modern girl’s wardrobe. Besides luxurious fur capes, colored tights and shoes with high platform, such outfits can become jeans which is indispensable in the collections of this line (at this time – with inlays and embroidery), some trousers and coats, corset tops, skirts and dresses.
Separately I would like to note the remarkable belt – except “cords”, there are also models with buckles in the form of keyholes and old orders. And, of course, impressive bag from D & G – which can decorate any wardrobe.
In the color texture of the collection, play a significant role the noble wine, pearl, purple and deep blue tones, combined with the classic black-gray and pastel shades.

Today, we continue to acquaint you with the advice of astrologers and stylists about the colors that are preferred for different signs of the zodiac. You can listen to these general tips, but it is worth remembering that they do not take into account the individual characteristics of each woman, while helping to create a certain mood.

Aries
For Aries, as in the past year, white color in the New Year clothes is still preferable, so that you do not have to spend money on new clothes. Spirits, according to Celtic legends brought misery, destroyed crops and harvest. But besides the trouble that they brought with them they were also doing useful things: helping Druids, the Celtic priests, to make future predictions.

For Samhain celebration, Druids constructed a gigantic saint bonfire and people surrounded it for bringing sacrifice in honor of the gods and future prediction.

During the celebrations Celts wore scary dresses, such as animal skins and heads, hoping to horrify otherworldly visitors.

When the celebration ended, Celts lit their home hearths. This ritual was supposed to protect them from the evils during winter.

In 43 AD, the Romans conquered most of the Celtic lands. As a result, during the 400-years intervention Samhain was united with two Roman holidays: Feralia and Pomona (Pomona). Feralia, celebrated at the end of October, was devoted to death. The second is Pomona, which was celebrated in honor of Pomona – goddess of trees and fruits. The symbol of Pomona is an apple, that came to the present days and is involved in the modern Halloween Costumes.

The influence of Christianity spread in the Celtic lands in 800ths. Pope Boniface IV approved the 1st of November as All Saints Day trying to draw the British attention away from the pagan customs. Later, the 2nd of November became a day of Souls, in honor of dead people.

Body color

Body color tones and pink- beige colors proved themselves well last season, so they will not lose their relevance also in spring and summer of 2009. New season’s trend is the illusion of bare feet, created by Galliano’s transparent plastic strips, and minimal designs from Carolina Herrera. The ideal addition to the body color is a golden-colored finish.

Gold fever

Designers have produced a series of gorgeous, shiny “metallic-gold” colored shoes counter to the market pessimistic mood. It is gladiatorial sandals by Anna Sui, upholstered with carnations; Phillip Lim suggests a model decorated with rosettes of gold frill, and the “gold” shoes of Jean Paul Gautier differ with matte luster. Last season’s novelty of gold-silver combination surprised us a lot, because it ruined all rules of metallic colors’ combination.

Sweet colors

When can we enjoy the sweet floral tones? The answer is summer for sure. Especially that the palette is very “delicious”: pink color is like a coloring for a chewing gum and the violet is a color of a mountain violet. The trend will have the significant influence on retail sales, which will support such cult brands like Luella, Topshop, and Gucci. The play of dull and shiny materials draws attention to the sandals from Moschino and we find Marni’s collection and the compositions with pale wood and raw materials in lavender shades by Josh Goot the most original ones.

Yellow
Yellow, the companion of summer, in this season perfectly matches with black color on a base of soles, fringing and ribbon-tie. This contrast is similar to a combination of striped bumblebee coloring and perfectly accentuates sports or tribal motives.

Sun-parched
Many leading designers used dark tones of red palette under the influence of tribal motives. This color spectrum of footwear is giving a style of “Amazons”, painting a picture of deserts and blood-red tribal figures. Luis Vuitton’s collection is rich with colorful textures and tones mixes. Karen Walker studies the possibilities of matte and shiny finishes on the example of chelsish shoes on the high heels.

First of all, it should be noted that almost all designers have decided to abandon the classical models of bags in the spring of 2009. Some have experimented with forms, while others – with colors, the third – with texture.
For example, designers of Prada presented a lot of bags with tighten strap above. And all models are made of brown and gray tones.

The designers of Marc Jacobs are originality as usual. In their collection there is a combination of textures and fabrics of different colors, multi-layerness, interesting straps in the form of chains or binding threads.
Such bold style is present in the collections of Louis Vuitton. Models of bags are made in bright colors, decorated with embroidery, leopard prints and brushes with large colored beads.

Elegant and feminine handbags are created by designers of Versace. Models of the fashion houses are made of precious white and gold. Fasteners are decorated with a large gemstone in the form of heart. Vera Wang designers also used precious stones as décor.

Bags with large overhead pockets, straps, brushes are represented in the collection of Gucci. Incidentally, this brand again brings back in fashion backpacks – large, bright and mostly one-colored.

Also interesting models of bags are represented in the collections of Fendi, Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu, Burberry Prorsum, Hermes.
