Women over 40 wear mini-skirts
In 80’s, women almost completely rejected the mini, when they were 33-year-old, but modern research shows that now women over 30 easily show off their bare feet.
The representative of the chain of British department stores Debenhams said: “This shows that now women are more satisfied with their body and are happy to dress accordingly. If the trend continues, there is no doubt that in the next decade, women closer to 45-50 years will consider a mini-skirt as an important part of their everyday wardrobe”.
The chain of these department stores held its own public poll, in which were made observations, who mostly buys skirts with length of 14 inches and less. 1000 of women of various ages were interviewed. The poll has shown that all the 14-year-old girls want to have a mini-skirt, but do not have enough money to buy whatever they want; 16 to 19 year-old girls are ready to invest in mini, with average length of which varies from 18 to 14 inches.
The tiniest skirts from all age groups of women choose 23-year-old girls – they are ready to wear a mini with average length of 12.5 inches. 40-year-old women can buy a skirt with length of 18 inches, but by the time they turn 40-42 year old, they tend to hold more conservative style, so their skirts closes the line of the knee. 51 year-old women prefer skirts with length of 32.5 inches.
As for the celebrities who, as it is known, set the tone to this or that fashion trend, it is enough to have a look at 46-year-old supermodel Elle Macpherson, 43-year-old Cindy Crawford or 40-year-old actress Jennifer Aniston – all of them with enviable regularity choose mini-dresses.
